Stephanie's grey-blue eyes June 25, 2013 Megan Van Groll Here’s a quick work-in-progress shot of my oil portrait of Stephanie V. I met Stephanie randomly in the wine section of a supermarket in uptown Dallas, and instantly knew she would make a great subject for a painting. As a realistic portrait artist, you have to be willing to jump on good opportunities for models when you find them, even if it means getting out of your comfort zone and potentially weirding someone out. Luckily Stephanie was game. I used a surprising amount of purple paint in her steely blue eyes. Final painting will be 36"x48" oil on canvas.
